Jeff Seiden - Lakeshore Psychotherapy Team

Jeffrey A. Seiden, Psy.D.

Psychotherapy can be a powerful experience, helping you to understand yourself and grow emotionally. We often carry around with us the split off, unintegrated and unremembered pains and disappointments of our lives. These painful experiences typically cleave their way into our personalities in unintended ways that we don’t even realize. They can affect how we feel about ourselves, how we relate to others and how we act in the world. Psychotherapy is process of self discovery, a way of reclaiming our painful experiences and making use of them to propel our lives forward in constructive and meaningful ways.  Insight and understanding frees us from the prison of the past and creates potential for new growth and experience in the present.

For over 20 years, I have worked with individuals and couples to increase their capacity to have meaningful and satisfying lives.

“Where you stand is what you see” was a phrase used by one of my mentors. I have often described psychotherapy as a journey where my clients invite me to see the world through their eyes. It is during this journey that I become an investigator, an interpreter and even a source of support for my clients. Together, we work to understand how they came to stand where they are and to figure out the changes that they need to make in order to create more fulfilling lives for themselves.

Danielle Brodsky, Psy.D.

My approach to therapy is one of warmth, collaboration, mutual respect, and non-judgment. Whether you’re undergoing a life transition, dissatisfied in your relationship(s), or just feeling anxious or down as a result of life’s ebbs and flows, I am passionate about helping you understand your experiences more deeply and ultimately find relief from your pain through self-exploration and meaning-making.
I am experienced in working with teens, adults, and couples who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, family conflict and issues within their relationships. I draw upon well-established practices of psychodynamic, relational therapy and mindfulness meditation to facilitate personal growth in a challenging, yet nurturing and safe space.
I also offer psychological evaluations of the following: academic accommodations for ADHD or other learning disorders, cognitive and intellectual testing, mood or behavioral assessment, trauma assessment, and identifying the nature and extent of a memory impairment.

I believe therapy is a journey of healing, growth, empowerment, and connection. As a therapist, it is my privilege to accompany my clients throughout this process. I provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment in order to foster a positive and trusting therapeutic relationship. This allows my clients to feel safe and comfortable to explore their emotional needs in treatment.

I have specialized training working with children, adolescents, parents, and families and have had experience across a wide range of treatment settings. Whether you or your child are experiencing depression, anxiety, family conflict, trauma, behavioral problems, or other challenges, I utilize an individualized and strengths-based approach to develop goals and improve quality of life. I firmly believe that all youth are impacted by their environment. Therefore, I strongly value and encourage family involvement and collaboration in the therapeutic process. I primarily draw upon psychodynamic and relational theoretical orientations, but I also utilize a variety of approaches based on client needs including mindfulness, non-directive play therapy, and cognitive-behavioral interventions.

In addition to therapeutic services, I complete psychological evaluations with children and adolescents for a wide array of referral questions. I offer psychological testing across multiple domains including psychoeducational, neuropsychological, personality, and socio-emotional testing.

My approach to therapy is one of empathy and exploration. Life is challenging and can bring up overwhelming feelings of anxiety or depression. In utilizing a psychodynamic approach to therapy, I will work with you to understand and process experiences that are causing you pain and suffering. Through our work together, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, which will ultimately lead to a more fulfilling and gratifying life.

I am experienced in working with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, body image issues, and eating disorders.
